Communities

Cim communities provide the core collaborative experience. They can be custom tailored to fit the purpose, ranging from simple communities for team, group, and department collaboration and information resources, to communities of practice and interest, to corporate challenges and campaigns.  Or, you can use communities as the collaborative front-end to business processes and social business applications.  Cim communities can be their own sites or they can be embedded into existing SharePoint sites or portals.

Activity Stream

Drive more effective collaboration by making it easy and relevant. Users have one place to go to see activity on items they've created or watched across all communities. Their stream shows collaborative activity and downstream process activity to keep them updated on what matters to them.  Via the stream it is easy to collaborate and to interact directly with your social network.

Collaborative Activities

Cim communities support a rich range of collaborative activities such as ratings, comments, managed tags, file uploads, Watch toggle, virtual collaborative spaces, RSS feeds, auto-promotion and peer reviews. All collaborative activities feed the Cim activity stream.

Social Network Integration

Cim integrates with the SharePoint social network to bridge the users "social business" activity and their social network.  They can see details about collaborators in their activity stream, drill into their My Sites to interact directly, and tag items into the SharePoint social stream.

Top 10 Listings, Dashboards, Community listings and more make it easy to see what's new across your environment, the level of activity, the most popular items, and the most active contributors.

Collaborative Management Reviews

Enhance processes with collaborative reviews. Managers and subject matter experts have their own private space for collaborative work; including, voting, commenting, and scored reviews. You can configure different displays for different stages of work or different groups of people.

Configurable Stage-Gate Processes

For more involved processes, Cim makes it easy to set up stage-gate processes tailored to your needs.  You have easily configurable stages, user actions, task management and workflow, notifications, activities, reporting, and management tasks. 

Task Management & Workflow

Cim comes with extensive task management to drive activity to move items forward in a process. It is configurable to meet different scenarios, and drives the workflow with notifications via email and/or the activity stream.

User Action Framework

Automate the work of users with Cim action framework. Create your own user actions using the Action Wizard, such as: custom new and edit forms, bulk action tasks, custom task assignment, stage workflow, notifications, and work stream actions.

Reporting & Analytics

Cim comes with three standard reporting options including configurable tabular reports with actions, pivot charting, and interactive flash charts.  In addition, Cim integrates with standard Microsoft reporting tools such as Excel, Excel services, Access, and SQL Reporting Services.

Native SharePoint Solution

Cim runs natively on SharePoint using the data, security, administration, and extended feature set.  The administrative interfaces of Cim are SharePoint-based. Cim is able to connect across SharePoint (sites, site collections, web applications) to provide a comprehensive enterprise solution.

Custom Branding

Have it your way. Leveraging the Cim CSS/XSLT framework you can customize communities, portals, listings, activity stream to meet your organizations branding and customize the user interfaces to meet custom needs.
 

Base Cim Solutions

Get started quickly with Cim base solutions.  Cim comes with three base solutions – Cim Collaboration for Social Business Collaboration, Cim Process for Social Business Processes, and Cim Innovation for Idea and Innovation Management. From this base, you can then enhance, extend, and innovate, using the extensive configuration and customization options.

Cross-Environment WorkStreams

Cim is part of your SharePoint environment. It enables you to create workstreams enabling activity to be pushed or pulled across the SharePoint work environment. For instance, tasks can be assigned directly into team sites where users already work, or approved ideas can be pushed into project management sites or even external systems. 

Open App Toolset

Cim provides an open framework allowing professionals to modify the core functionality, or add new functionality, such as: connecting with external systems (read and/or write), or customizing the events pushed into the Cim Activity Stream.  With the Open App toolset, customization is done without the need for compiled code development.
