CorasWorks Releases Summer Updates of Workplace Suite and Data Integration Toolset
Suite v10.2 and Toolset v1.5 add New, Enhanced Features to Already Powerful Products
Reston, VA – August 13, 2009 – CorasWorks Corporation, a leading provider of software that makes it easier to develop applications on Microsoft SharePoint, today released version 10.2 of the CorasWorks Workplace Suite and version 1.5 of the Data Integration Toolset.
These two products make up the CorasWorks Modular Application Development System, an application development system that has been deployed in more than 1,000 enterprises worldwide and enables organizations to design, build and manage applications in SharePoint without the costs and complexity of custom code development.
“Version 10.2 of the Workplace Suite and version 1.5 of the Toolset continue to make it easier for CorasWorks customers to design, build and manage applications for a SharePoint environment - in a better and more powerful way,” said Gary Voight, President and CEO of CorasWorks. “Version 10 of the Suite, which we released back in March 2009, was built with a brand new code base, so the two ‘dot’ releases have given us the opportunity to build upon that code base and add new and enhanced features to meet customer needs and to support our growing base of application publishers creating portable, plug-and-play applications.”
The new versions of the Suite and Toolset include both new features and feature enhancements that were targeted to make integration more seamless and to drive the ability to create richer applications.
A few of the key application scenarios supported by the new releases are:
- More extensive document “onramp” solutions, with the new document upload feature and document creation with templates. These features enforce metadata requirements and allow end users to contribute to a set of pre-populated destinations.
- Enhanced features for business processes and business activity with improvements in email notifications, event triggers, scheduled activities, and the ability to security trim end user custom actions.
- Richer project-based applications based on portfolio management capabilities, GANTT charting, and robust flash-based data visualization.
- Continued enhancements in working with external data sources via the CorasWorks Data Integration Toolset, such as Conditional Formatting of external data and working with external data and mashups of external and internal data in Calendar and Pivot Chart displays.
- Enhancements to support application publishers, such as support for Custom Help, finer control over the use of Global Links for portable applications, and enhanced end-user functionality, such as Sticky Search.
