CorasWorks Announces Most Popular Plug-and-Play Apps for SharePoint

Department Dashboard, Time Off Management Were Most Downloaded Apps in August

The Ready-for-Work apps run on the Workplace Suite v10 or the new AppEngine for SharePoint, Powered by CorasWorks.

The AppEngine is an innovative runtime environment for SharePoint that allows users to download and run plug-and-play business apps from CorasWorks and its application publisher partners, or custom built applications from third-party service providers.

The three most popular apps for August in the CorasWorks App Store were:

  • Help Desk with Self Service
  • Time Off Management.
A free application published by CorasWorks, the Department Dashboard is the core application for a departmental work environment and is used as the basis for many Sharepoint deployments at many organizations. This free download includes an extensive set of department collaborative capabilities and the ability to snap in departmental business applications and processes from across the department or across a SharePoint environment.

The Time-Off Management application is a comprehensive solution that enables a department or business function to manage the process of submitting and approving time-off requests in SharePoint. Requests are approved and published to a shared calendar for employee tracking. In addition, the app provides extensive reporting and comment tracking. The app was developed by R3 Business Solutions - a CorasWorks App Publisher partner - and lists at $1,500.

The Help Desk with Self Service is also published by CorasWorks and is especially popular with IT Departments using SharePoint. It provides a robust end-to-end process for managing help desk requests within SharePoint. It allows users to capture Help Desk requests, track their status and drive the process with automated tasks and email notifications. The hot feature for this app is the ability to distribute a Snaplet across the environment so that end-users can self-service and enter new requests and track the status, thus reducing data entry, calls and emails by help desk engineers. The Help Desk lists for $1,000.

The Department Dashboard, Time Off Management, and Help Desk with Self Service apps are just three of many apps for use with the AppEngine for SharePoint.
