CorasWorks Workplace Builder Training Course
Overview
The Workplace Builder training course is an intensive three-day class during
which students learn how to build and implement a workplace using the CorasWorks
Workplace Suite. You will learn to extend and enhance the Microsoft® SharePoint™
platform to enable better business solutions that are more robust, better
connected, more quickly deployed, and more soundly architected.
Audience
This course is designed for IT and business department staff who have purchased
CorasWorks Workplace Suite and want to learn how to build and customize
collaborative workplaces using the CorasWorks Workplace Suite Developer Edition.
Prerequisites
For this course, participants should have a working knowledge of Microsoft
SharePoint (either WSS or SPS) and the CorasWorks Workplace Suite.

About Workplace Builder Training Course
During this intensive three-day class, students will learn how to build and
implement a workplace using the CorasWorks Workplace Suite, extending and
enhancing Microsoft® SharePoint™ products and technologies to better support
collaborative business needs. In addition to the hands-on exercises scheduled
through out the class, students will have access to the CorasWorks
Alumni Site after course completion, enabling them to practice and
reinforce the skills acquired by installing site templates and course
content on their local site. Classroom workstations will be provided for
students to use during the training course. No additional equipment is required.
By the end of this three-day course, students will be able to:
- Deploy CorasWorks blueprint solutions to quickly build a collaborative workplace
- Construct an efficient workplace configuration using basic design patterns
- Identify and design information dashboards to support organizational needs
- Customize navigation
- Select and configure CorasWorks standard web parts
- Create custom roll-up web parts
- Deploy complex filtering functions to support event and task calendar views
- Consolidate information views using advanced charting features

CorasWorks Workplace Architecture Training Course
Overview
This two–day, intensive training course is designed to help CorasWorks users and administrators make the most of their collaborative solutions built on Microsoft® SharePoint® and the CorasWorks Workplace Suite. Students will learn a variety of techniques to customize their collaborative environment and understand all components of the CorasWorks 4–Tier Application Architecture.
With live classroom demonstrations and hands–on exercises, students will learn how to logically model their organizational hierarchy and business processes to optimize the value delivered by their collaborative workplace.
Audience
This training class is designed for IT staff that is responsible for the implementation, customization, administration, and support of the CorasWorks Workplace Suite.
Prerequisites
Participants should have successfully completed the 3–day CorasWorks Workplace Suite Builder Training course.

By the end of this two–day course, students will be able to:
- Outline specifications for a variety of business solution types
- Apply appropriate design patterns to build collaborative solutions, ensuring scalability and adherence to business processes
- Build solutions leveraging components of the CorasWorks Workplace Suite such as personas and role–based dashboards
- Architect systems with multiple site collections
- Modify CSS site design
- Leverage CorasWorks Custom Displays and enhance CorasWorks web parts with JavaScript
- Migrate to a new design, pushing a new master page
- Link CorasWorks web parts with SharePoint and third–party web parts
CorasWorks Data Integration Toolset Training Course
Overview
CorasWorks is pleased to offer a two–day, intensive training course designed to help its customers and partners leverage the Data Integration Toolset to build and enhance collaborative workplaces. By integrating data from SQL Server content, and from content across your SharePoint 2007 and ⁄ or 2003 environments, the Data Integration Toolset extends the power of SharePoint beyond a single platform.
During this intensive two–day course students will learn the core features and design principles around how the Toolset can help build and manage collaborative business solutions within a connected workplace. The course is based on the Data Integration Toolset and enhances Microsoft SharePoint products and technologies to better support a spectrum of organizational needs. Students explore real–world scenarios and learn tips and tricks to optimize SharePoint ⁄ CorasWorks implementations. They will learn to incorporate content from external sources and integrate that content into SharePoint solutions.
Audience
This training course is designed for developers and IT professionals who have purchased the CorasWorks Data Integration Toolset and want to integrate external data into collaborative business applications and an integrated workplace.
Prerequisites
As a prerequisite for training, all participants should have a working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
(either WSS or MOSS). Knowledge of the following technologies and the CorasWorks Workplace Suite software are also recommended but not required:
- XSLT or XML
- Relational Databases (i.e. SQL Server) preferred
- XPATH

About The Data Integration Toolset Training Course
By the end of this two–day course, students will be able to:
- Identify the Data Integration Toolset components, their purpose, and common implementations
- Implement several common business scenarios using the tool set.
Example: Relating employee information from SQL server to collaborative information such as documents in SharePoint.
- Describe the technical highlights of the product and its value
- Configure a number of data providers using ADO and Web Service. Providers include:
- Custom SQL Server
- SharePoint Across Configuration Databases
- SharePoint 2003
- Project Server 2007
- Mash–up data from multiple sources
- Example: Mash–up SharePoint content and SQL content
- Configure multiple display components, including:
- Grid Display
- Calendar Display
- Custom Display (using XSLT)
- Integrate XML data at the SharePoint column level with the CorasWorks Workplace Look–up
- Utilize best practices including
- Build a data center site in SharePoint to manage all your workplace data sources
- Managing XML configuration files
- Centralizing data versus managing duplicate data sources
